Summer is already here, and with it the appointment with the beauty of Sicilian sunsets returns to Contrada San Nicola, in Mazara del Vallo. It is the aperitif in the nature of the Sala house, organised every Thursday on the lawn of the family winery, surrounded by vineyards and the Mediterranean Sea.
Summer is perfect for wandering around vineyards and cellars, admiring the now-grown bunches of grapes, in all their splendour, and tasting the fruit of previous vintages, while waiting for the most eagerly awaited moment, the grape harvest.
It is a time of light-heartedness and conviviality, the perfect time to enjoy a few moments of relaxation, preferably in good company with a glass of wine in your hands. That's why, in addition to the normal visits with wine-tasting, which can be organised during the rest of the year, Tenuta Gorghi Tondi has decided to flank thesunset appointmenta lighter and more disengaged way of doing wine tourism, to tell the many Italian and foreign visitors who come to Mazara del Vallo during the summer months, to discover a lesser-known Sicily and alternative tourist itineraries, about their wines and the family estate.
The aperitif, organised on Thursdays from mid-July to September starting at 7 p.m., is clearly an excuse to immerse oneself in the beauty of a privileged panorama and to enjoy the natural spectacle of the sunset, which is staged every day right in front of the baglio's gate.
The cost of 28 € per person, to be paid exclusively online on the company website, includes:
- 2 glasses of wine of your choice, from among those proposed for the evening;
- accompanying appetisers;
- live music
There is also a children's menu, at a cost of €8, which can also be purchased online as an extra.
During the event, guests can taste and purchase any other wines, either by the glass or directly by the bottle, to wait, glasses in hand, for the sun to dip into the Mediterranean Sea directly from the cellar lawn, with a view of the olive trees and vines looking over the horizon.
The sunset dates will start next 18 July, and will go on until the first week of September, each evening with a different band.
