Tenuta Gorghi Tondi hosts the 15th Blind Blogger Tasting

It was the family baglio and its enchanting surroundings, nestled between the WWF oasis of the same name, Lago Preola and Gorghi Tondi, and the Mediterranean coast, that welcomed the 15th Blind Blogger Tasting21 and 22 October, a national competition in which wine lover professionals and amateurs taste wines from indigenous grape varieties from different regions of Italy strictly 'blind'.

A particularly summery month of October welcomed the 16 participants who had to overcome the now proverbial contest created in order to earn a place on this restricted tasting panel. ad hoc by the two long-standing organisers of the event, sommelier and wine connoisseur Fabio Gobbi and the sommelier Francesco Bonomi.

For this edition, the rules were simple: submit a 15-second (!) video on your Instagram profile choosing and showing a red wine that, in the opinion of the participants, could be defined as 'summery', mentioning the words 'summery red' and 'blind blogger tasting' and the bonus terms 'cat', 'restaurant', 'swimming pool', 'bicycle' and 'fish' in the video produced. The creativity of the guys really lived up to the test. Take a peek at all the videos they made, even those who didn't qualify, wit, irony and creativity reigned supreme.

In addition to winning the chance to travel to Sicily and our winery, the qualifiers were able to choose a bottle to blindly present to the entire group, trying to place their label among the most voted ones and thus win the Blind edition, as well as tell the story of the beauty and goodness of Made in Italy wine and of their region of origin.

For the company, these were two days of intense exchange and sharing, experienced with a splendid group, which provided profound, exhilarating and heart-warming moments of joy.

We would like to thank them for their great enthusiasm and their willingness to discuss and learn together and, above all, to the two 'fathers' of an event that, among its many objectives, has precisely the meetinggetting to know each other in person, taking the discussion from the online to the offline, creating a network of professionals and enthusiasts from all over Italy, and then forging a bond that goes beyond the social relationship to create an active and ever-expanding community.

We would also like to thank Renzo Bonomifor the splendid copper sculpture created especially for the occasion, and Mureddu Sugheri for the Tenuta Gorghi Tondi branded gadgets. Finally, we would like to thank the glamping partners Wind Resort, in Campobello di Mazara, which hosted the participants in a decidedly out-of-the-ordinary accommodation facility.

To capture these two days in pictures, we had the pleasure of hosting a big fan of Gorghi Tondi, James Moceri, photographer, digital creator and founder of 'SicilianSays', a very popular Instagram profile that explains Sicilian to those who want to get closer not only to the culture, but also to the language, traditions and places of our beautiful island.
