A concentrate of optimism and conviviality. Organic sparkling rosé from indigenous black grape varieties. It will evoke hibiscus, Mediterranean scrubland, and the saltiness of seaside days.
Perfect in company, it is the ideal conversation wine. It reaches its peak when served as an aperitif alongside appetisers of crunchy vegetables, tasty tempura fritters, and light, delicately spiced dishes. The ideal serving temperature is between 8 and 10 °C.
If there is one word in the Sicilian vocabulary that can immediately evoke cheerfulness, light-heartedness, and the desire to be together, it is precisely “Babbìo” (which literally means “to joke around” or “to banter good-naturedly”). Following the great success of the white version, in 2020 the Sala family decided to expand this project with an optimistic vision, giving rise to Babbìo Rosé.
The idea behind this label was clear: to capture the magic and colours of Sicilian summer sunsets and transform them into a light-hearted and playful sparkling wine. To achieve this, the winery focused on an oenological project that is a true “concentrate of Sicily”: a skilled blend of three indigenous black grape varieties that are deeply rooted in the region's identity – Frappato, Nerello Mascalese, and Nero d’Avola.
Grown in the estate's younger vineyards, caressed by the sea breeze, these grapes bestow intoxicating aromas of hibiscus, Mediterranean scrub, and a vibrant marine sapidity upon the glass.
The lively spirit of this rosé is perfectly reflected in its visual design, making it a proud example of the “Maioliche” line, whose graphics pay homage to the centuries-old art of Sicilian ceramics.
It's the synthesis of modern viticulture: drinkable, joyful, and ecological. It's born from an interesting blend of red grapes (Frappato, Nerello Mascalese, Nero d’Avola) spumantised into a light rosé. Like the white version, it adheres to the eco-sustainable Friend of Plastic Free project, allowing you to enjoy an excellent sparkling wine while respecting the future of our planet.
