The History of Wine: Rosa dei Venti

The birth of Rosa dei Venti represents a fascinating enological challenge and a poetic declaration of love for the Sicilian landscape. The winery has chosen to take on one of the island's noblest and most distinctive black grape varietals, Nerello Mascalese, to offer an unprecedented interpretation: vinified as a rosé, in purity and far from the slopes of the island's most famous volcano. As its name suggests, this wine was conceived with a very specific intention: to capture and translate into liquid form the dominant natural elements that surround and shape the estate, namely the sea and the wind.

Debuting with its first vintage in 2018, the Rosa dei Venti also testifies to the vitality and forward-looking vision of the Sala family. The organic grapes destined for this label come from some of the estate's youngest vineyards, located near the coast. The production aim was to create a wine capable of capturing the exact atmosphere of Sicilian summer evenings, blending the wild scents of the Mediterranean maquis with vibrant salty sapidity, evoking the warm colours of beach sunsets.

The deep soul of this rosé is magnificently enhanced by its graphic design as well. Fully integrated into the “Territoriali” line, the Rosa dei Venti was among the stars of the major (and award-winning) company restyling project. from 2019. Its label, which plays on the name “rose”, understood as a flower with stylised features, and "compass rose", visually returns the contemporary character of this rosé. A perfect aesthetic synthesis for a wine born to tell, from the very first glance, the beauty and inexhaustible energy of the sea's viticulture..

Why choose Rosa dei Venti by Tenuta Gorghi Tondi?

Choosing this rosé means bringing to the table the pure and elegant interpretation of a noble grape variety like Nerello Mascalese, forged by the winds of the south-western coast. A certified organic sensory experience. Also that recalls the Sicilian summer in every sip.
