Spassoso is our ode to Sicilian conviviality. A harmonious red blend with a brilliant character, designed to enhance moments shared in company and the true pleasure of being together.
The ideal companion for everyday meals and informal occasions. Magnificent by the glass, it pairs perfectly with rich platters of cured meats and cheeses, red meats and succulent grilled burgers. Serve at a temperature of 16-18 °C.
Born with the 2021 vintage, the Spassoso it's much more than a simple red blend: it's the liquid manifesto of the confident, sunny, and optimistic attitude that has always distinguished Gorghi Tondi Estate. Rightfully placed in the “wines for good spirits” line, this wine was conceived with a very specific goal: to tell an idea of “contemporary drinking,” creating a product that is both extremely accessible and welcoming for newcomers, while still hiding a great production complexity capable of intriguing the most expert palates.
The allure of this wine begins with its very name, which conceals a brilliant play on words. “Spassoso” not only evokes the joy, fun, and lightheartedness of moments spent in company, but it subtly and playfully reveals the winemaking technique chosen for its creation: *appassimento*. Spassoso is, in fact, a harmonious blend of Nero d’Avola, Syrah and Perricone. The real secret behind its smooth, fruity character lies in the Perricone grapes (accounting for around 15–20% of the total volume): after being carefully harvested by hand, these bunches are left to rest and dry for around ten days in the drying room, before being vinified separately and blended with the rest of the wine.
To crown the identity of this label is a graphically impactful project. The visual guise of Spassoso is a tribute to multifaceted and typically Sicilian exuberance: a lively and colourful collage of images that juxtaposes symbols of art, nature, tradition, music, and passion. A true anthem to conviviality, for a wine born to bring a smile.
As the name itself suggests, it is a manifesto of joy. This wine unites the strength of two native grapes (Nero d’Avola and Perricone) with the elegance of Syrah in perfect balance. It is the ideal purchase to guarantee excellent quality and great drinkability for your dinners with friends..
