Grown along the 12th meridian, this pure, dry Zibibbo brings the millennia-old history of Sicily to the glass, revealing fresh aromatic notes enhanced by the influence of the sea breeze.

Tasting Notes

  • Smell Bright straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose is extremely embracing and aromatic: an intoxicating whirlwind of fresh almond, apricot and orange blossom, refreshed by light wisps of sage.
  • Taste: On the palate, it strikes with its exquisite fragrance. The taste is distinguished by a perfect and elegant balance between the vibrant acidity of the fruit and the typical marine sapidity of the company's coastal vineyards.

Recommended Pairings

A white wine with a distinctly Mediterranean soul. It's ideal to uncork as a classy aperitif to prepare the palate. Gastronomically, it's the chosen companion for fine seafood dishes: it superbly enhances crustaceans, the succulence of sea urchins, and the saltiness of oysters. Serve well chilled at 8-10 °C.

The History of Wine: Meridian 12 Zibibbo

“Meridiano 12" is not just a fanciful name, but a precise and magical geographical coordinate. It is the invisible line of the 12th meridian that physically crosses the vineyards of Tenuta Gorghi Tondi, defining a strip of sun-kissed land constantly caressed by sea breezes. A habitat that for millennia has represented the ideal and chosen location for vine cultivation.

It is precisely to honour this age-old vocation that the Sala family created Meridiano 12 Zibibbo, whose first vintage debuted in 2018. The production project was born from a clear intention: to collect the 'direct legacy” of one of the oldest and most historic white grape varieties cultivated in Sicily, Zibibbo, to offer a fresh, dry, and contemporary interpretation. Grown in purity in young vineyards just metres from the sea, this wine was conceived to capture in the glass not the classic sweetness, but intoxicating aromas of orange blossom, apricot, and a vibrant marine sapidity.

The dreaming, aromatic soul of this wine is also masterfully reflected in its graphic design. Fully part of the “Territoriali” line – the protagonist of a major and award-winning company restyling in 2019 – Meridiano 12 sports an evocative label dominated by a design of elegant hot air balloons in flight. A dreamlike and contemporary image that recalls the idea of lightness, of a journey through the world's coordinates, and the strength of coastal winds. A perfect visual synthesis for a wine born to make the senses soar.

Why choose Tenuta Gorghi Tondi's Meridiano 12 Zibibbo?

It's the perfect bottle for those who wish to rediscover Zibibbo (one of the oldest varieties in the Mediterranean) in its most modern guise: dry, organic, and not cloying. A wine of incredible aromatic clarity, which combines drinkability with a sophistication capable of satisfying the most demanding palates.
