It's the bottle of cheer and celebration. It is extraordinary for accompanying glamorous aperitifs, but finds its ideal complement alongside appetising finger foods, salmon tartines, light fried dishes and Mediterranean snacks. A serving temperature of is highly recommended 6-8 °C.
Il progetto legato alle bollicine di Tenuta Gorghi Tondi officially came to life in 2011 under the iconic name Palmarès,. The choice of this name also stems from a small family anecdote: Michele Sala, the company's founder, shared a great passion for Formula 1 with his daughter Clara. It was during one of the televised awards ceremonies after a race, while a name was being sought in the cellar for the new sparkling wine, that the word roll of honour — indicating the list of a driver's victories — appeared to be the perfect choice. The term, of Latin origin, means indeed “Worthy of victory” and ultimately came to best represent the spirit of the project.
If the birth of this line represented a milestone “worthy of victory”, the creation of its rosé version marked an even bolder oenological challenge, strongly desired by the Sala family.
The idea behind the production project for Palmarès Rosé Extra Dry was as complex as it was fascinating: to take on Nero d’Avola, the undisputed “prince” of Sicilian grape varieties, historically renowned for its structural power and normally vinified as red wine. The winery chose to explore a completely new facet of this varietal, working it in purity through the Martinotti Method (or Charmat) to highlight its freshness and elegance, without sacrificing the peculiar organoleptic characteristics that make this grape so sought-after.
Today, this organic sparkling wine is the liquid expression of the winery's winemaking mastery: it is tangible proof of how the Sala family succeeds in enhancing and renewing Sicilian tradition with courage and great personality, transforming the island's most noble grape into a fragrant, joyful, and extraordinarily refined bubbly.
By purchasing this sparkling rosé, you'll bring home the most dynamic and sociable soul of our production. It's the ideal solution for Wine Lovers looking for a fresh, organic alternative with a distinctly Sicilian character to classic bubbles, always guaranteeing excellent value for money.
