A bold challenge: Pinot Noir classic method sparkling wine Brut Nature. A strongly Mediterranean interpretation to celebrate the winemaking art of the sea..
Its Brut Nature soul makes it the companion for an entire classy meal. It perfectly pairs delicate and briny preparations: prawn crudités, oysters, fish carpaccios, and appetising gourmet crostini with pistachio mortadella. The ideal serving temperature is 6-8 °C.
The Millesimato Rosé Brut nature is born from a challenge.
One of those ideas that, at first, seem almost counterintuitive.
A few years ago Michele Sala, founder of Tenuta Gorghi Tondi, proposed to the estate's long-time winemaker Tonino Guzzo that he try to to vinify Pinot Noir in purity and to make it a Classico Method sparkling wine. One of the most complex and delicate varieties in global viticulture, accustomed to latitudes and climates very different from those of western Sicily.
It was not an obvious choice, and precisely for this reason it became a fascinating production challenge: to understand if the Mazara countryside, overlooking the Mediterranean, could offer a new interpretation of such a noble and demanding grape variety.
From this vision, the first Metodo Classico sparkling wine produced on the estate was born. A project that continues the path of research and experimentation undertaken over the years by Gorghi Tondi and which, once again, tells of the surprising versatility of “sea viticulture.”.
The organic Pinot Noir grapes come from one of the property's younger vineyards, not far from the sea. After the base wine is made and the secondary fermentation, the vintage wine is aged on its lees for at least 36 months, developing depth, finesse and complexity.
The result is a vintage Brut Nature with Mediterranean character: a very delicate, elegant and vertical rosé, in which the precision of the Classic Method meets the aromatic brightness and natural sapidity of this extreme corner of Sicily.
It is the choice of those who wish to explore the highest and most experimental level of the company: the noble international grape variety Pinot Noir that Embrace Sicilianity under organic regime. Housed in a precious case, it is the ideal bubbly to give as a gift or to uncork when the occasion calls for elegance, complexity, and charm..
