The prestigious Magnum format enhances the structure and longevity of our Grillo Riserva Kheirè. Housed in an elegant wooden box, it is the perfect gift to celebrate Sicilian excellence and history.
Thanks to its pronounced structure, this format is perfect for large festive banquets. Ideal with complex seafood dishes, noble crustaceans and smoked fish. It also wonderfully complements delicate meat dishes, such as white pork sauces and rabbit cacciatore. Serve at a temperature of 10 °C.
“Kheirè” is much more than the name of a label: in ancient Greek it literally means “Welcome”. Through this word, the Sala family wanted to capture the deepest soul of Sicily in a bottle, celebrating its legendary hospitality and paying homage to the golden age when the island was the heart of Magna Graecia. It is a wine conceived to welcome, to wish happiness and to be the spokesperson for moments of pure sharing.
This label holds an absolute place of honour in the heart of Gorghi Tondi Estate. It saw the light of day in the memorable 2006 harvest, a year of great evolution that marked the debut of the company's white crus. The Kheirè it represents, in fact, the first and most prestigious white wine ever produced by the family.
Behind its unmistakable elegance lies exceptional raw material and a visceral connection to the coast. The grapes Grillo in purity come exclusively from historical filari boasting about 30 years of age. These vines sink their roots into a calcareous and sandy soil, daily breathing in the breezes of the Mediterranean Sea that laps the estate.
To develop its long-lasting and structured character, every detail of the winemaking process is meticulously attended to. After an initial phase in stainless steel in contact with the fine lees, a specific portion of the wine (approximately 35%) is set aside to mature for 8 months in new French oak barriques. Only after the meticulous blending of the batches and the final refinement in the bottle does the Kheirè it is ready to reveal its true nature: a perfect blend of the solar energy of Sicilian land and the refreshing saline trail of the sea.
The format Magnum (1.5 litres) it is the perfect refuge for great wines: it allows for slower micro-oxygenation, guaranteeing exceptional evolution over time and superior longevity compared to a standard bottle. Presented in a refined wooden case, it is a true collector's item and the ultimate gift to impress a discerning Wine Lover.
