OUR NATURE

THE CELLAR

Halfway between the sea and the integral nature reserve, the winery is located in a traditional “baglio” (a typical Sicilian farmstead), in complete harmony with the vineyards and the surrounding natural context, a few steps away from the nests of the hawks, the turtles, the wild orchids and the colors of the Mediterranean maquis. This is the world of Gorghi Tondi estate, an unspoiled area where you can admire an extreme, beautiful and evocative Sicily, without forgetting its fruits. Experiencing the wine at the cellar therefore takes on a particular value; on one hand, discovering the care and attention in the production and, on the other hand, giving the visitors the opportunity to unveil the estate and its products, with tasting occasions that are the hallmark of a passionate and attentive love, the same that the winery dedicates to the protection of the territory.

The beating heart and core of the estate, the cellar, equipped with the most modern and performing systems for the wine making processes. It is also the place where winemakers and the dedicated team for innovation commit themselves, day after day, to applying the best and latest technologies able to protect the peculiarities of our grapes, the result of organic and integrated agriculture.

The barrel cellar, a dreamy place

Our cellar is the most fascinating place of the winery, its best kept secret. Here, it is possible to smell the aromas turning the grapes into wines and watch the warm wooden colors that contribute to the dreamy sensation  of this fairy room, where each single barrel is the treasure chest of a premium wine. An atmosphere suspended in time that invites to that “monastic silence”, allowing to better appreciate a work and a dedication otherwise unnoticed. Our temperature-controlled cellar is also home to 800 hectolitres of French oak barrels.
